Goodie Bag #96 - Creative self expression and your health (3/2/2010)
We're making things pretty...because everything’s nicer that way. Well, mostly everything. When we’re feeling really down, we write. Or we sing. Or we make jewelry, or we draw, or we tell a story or throw some clay or try a new twist on an old fave recipe. Creativity in everyday life can help anyone (not just us ChronicBabes) feel more powerful, more beautiful, and more valuable. And it’s fun to make stuff! Read on for some ideas to jumpstart your creative spirit.
Goodie Bag #95 - Everybody needs a little love and tenderness (2/16/2010)
Sometimes, all you need is a little love. No one can love you more than YOU can. If you love yourself, all things feel a little easier, the world seems a bit brighter. Being a sick chick can eat away at our self-esteem; combat that by accepting compliments, celebrating even your smallest successes, and challenging yourself every day. In this issue, we have tons of tips and resources to help you love the one you're with no matter how you feel!
Goodie Bag #94 - February is the month for nesting (2/2/2010)
February is so chilly, no matter where you are (in North America, anyway), so it’s the perfect month for nesting. We’re fluffing our nest here at ChronicBabe HQ, and we’ve spotted tons of cool ideas to share. When you’re a sick chick, you need a cozy nest, and we’re happy to help! Here are more than a dozen resources plus much more.
A note from Editrix Jenni - Flare-ups: We're not always perfect (1/19/2010)
Every once in a while, even Editrix Jenni has a flare-up big enough to sideline her. In this personal letter, she talks about how she deals with flare-ups and asks for advice.
Goodie Bag #93 - 20 Tools for a fresh start! (1/5/2010)
Happy new year, Babes! We’re so grateful for everything we have, and for you as part of our awesome community. This year we have lots of big plans: more Podcasts, big growth at the Forum, new videos, more cute ChronicBabe merchandise to show your pride, and even a ChronicBabe event where you can meet Editrix Jenni, other Babes and hear terrific speakers. Hurrah!
A holiday wish for you from Editrix Jenni (12/22/2009)
This week, instead of our usual Goodie Bag, let’s focus on a simple holiday wish: I wish for each and every one of you a measure of grace, peace, and gratitude. Even if you’re not feeling well or things aren’t going your way every moment, please take time each day to be thankful for what you DO have. We have some measure of control over how we handle our health, how we handle ourselves in the face of adversity. We have the warmth of a strong and supportive community. And we have the opportunity to make a fresh start in the new year. We’ll be chatting about this over at the forum throughout the end of the year, so please hop on over and weigh in: What are you grateful for this holiday season? Your stories and wishes will help spread cheer and hope, and I think you’ll be inspired to read what others have to offer.
Goodie Bag #92 - Our annual gift guide! (12/8/2009)
It's a gift idea explosion! We know some of you are already done shopping…but check out the guide for last-minute ideas. And just because it's the holidays doesn't mean our guide isn't good all year-round; we've stocked it with gift ideas for any occasion. Browse our ideas, and let us know if we left off anything super-awesome. On top of that, we have tons of other cool resources to help you enjoy the holidays and wallow in gratitude.
Goodie Bag #91: Getting help during the holidays (11/24/2009)
With the holidays around the corner, everyone's shopping for gifts-for their friends, family, and themselves. You can help ChronicBabe by shopping our Amazon links each and every time you make a purchase. Plus we've got resources for evaluating charities for donations, strategies for managing your energy during the holidays and much more.
Goodie Bag #90 - A ton of love and compassion for you (11/10/2009)
When we're sick all the time, it's easy to fall into the trap of being angry. Angry at the world, at our doctors, our spouses or friends, the bus driver…anyone who doesn't understand. But if we open our hearts we can make connections that nourish us and help us feel better. Sharon Salzberg has a terrific short meditation to help open your heart. Plus we've got links to tons of other fun stuff!
Greetings from my couch! A personal note from Editrix Jenni (10/27/2009)
After a couple weeks of travel and hard work promoting the ChronicBabe message, Editrix Jenni was too pooped to write a big 'ol Goodie Bag. So this personal letter has to suffice...including links to educational fibromyalgia videos, an op-ed she wrote about healthcare reform and more.
