Fibromyalgia
According to the National Fibromyalgia Association, between 5% and 7% of people in the U.S. live with fibromyalgia. That's a lot of people losing sleep over pain and fatigue, just to scratch the surface! Here are some of our favorite resources to help you learn more.

Have a specific medical issue that's troubling you? You can Ask the Doctor.
FibroAction: News for UK Babes
Fibro Babes in the UK! Looking for up-to-date fibromyalgia-related news and events? Then you should get hooked up with the FibroAction network!
FibroAction's primary goal is to raise awareness of fibromyalgia. In addition to info on upcoming fibro- and pain-related events in the UK, they stay on top of the latest in fibro research and provide resources for patients, such as an e-newsletter, help finding local support groups, and even a list of health care professionals recommended by other fibro patients. We love their positive and proactive attitude!
FibroBabe, are you having surgery? Read this first!
If you have fibromyalgia and are about to have surgery, here's some advice for you from Fibromyalgia Support.
Developed by the Oregon Health & Science Fibromyalgia Research and Treatment Team, these tips are designed to reduce the amount of time you need to recover from surgery, and minimize the flare-up factor of surgery. Don't just read this—print the list and show it to your docs for their consideration.
Living with Fibromyalgia: A Documentary
Living with Fibromyalgia is a film about Darlene Akers' journey with fibromyalgia, filmed by her daughter, Daneen, and co-filmmaker Stephen Eyer.

National Fibromyalgia Association
The NFA's mission is "to develop and execute programs dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with fibromyalgia."
A huge resource for Babes who are looking for information about fibromyalgia symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. Check out their magazine, Fibromyalgia Aware; head to the Fibro Store for educational materials or even jewelry; or browse the support group directory to find a group in your area.
The Clothespin Challenge
Wish others could understand what it's like to live with fibromyalgia? Encourage them to take the National Fibromyalgia Association’s Clothespin Challenge—it's an eye opener.
The challenge is simple: Place a clothespin on your finger, set a timer for half an hour, and see how long you can handle the pain. Not only is it a good demonstration of what it's like to live with constant pain (because as the National Fibromyalgia Association (NFA) points out, FibroBabes can't get rid of their pain as easily as you can remove the clothespin) but it's also an inspiration for fundraising to further increase awareness. Learn more about fibromyalgia, teach others as well, and help support the NFA's efforts to find a cure.
