Call for posts: We want to share your voice!
We're always looking for ways to offer new, interesting resources here at ChronicBabe. As Editrix Jenni travels to health care conferences around the country, she's meeting fascinating folks—who have amazing stories to tell.
So we decided: Let's open up ChronicBabe to some guest posts. We want to hear YOUR story!
Here's what we're looking for:
+ Personal stories about your experience with chronic illness, especially ways that you've conquered challenges.
+ Workarounds, tricks and innovative resources that help you make the most of your day.
+ Stories about how you faced a naysayer, how you held your ground, and how you felt about speaking out.
+ Relationships that are meaningful to you and how they help you live an amazing life in spite of illness.
Here's what you should include when you submit your guest post:
+ 500-words or less post, in the body of an email (please do not include it as an attachment)
+ Your name as you would like it to appear on the site
+ Your phone number (which we will keep private) in case we need to reach you with questions
+ Your favorite photo of yourself - 72 dpi, at least 2 in. x 2 in.
+ Any social media links you would like us to include in your post, including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, blogs, YouTube channel, Pinterest, Quora and Tumblr
...if you would like to co-post this on your blog, please wait - and we'll coordinate so they go out on the same day.
Here's what we're NOT looking for:
+ Rambling complaints about how life is hard (we know it is! but it's a downer to hear it over and over)
+ Old blog posts you're recycling (we want fresh stories!)
+ Requests for help or money from people (we love to help - sharing your story is the best way we know how)
+ Stories that are not copy-edited, are riddled with typos, are filled with run-on sentences... basically, please read and re-read your story before you submit it
Email your story to: chronic babe at g mail dot com
We (that's Editrix Jenni and her volunteers) will read your stories and choose the best ones to run on the site. This will be an ongoing effort so if you don't have a perfect idea today, that's OK! Give yourself some time to process ideas.
We're so excited to share your voice on ChronicBabe.com
If this isn't your speed, please share this with other friends so they'll have a chance to participate, too! We want a real diversity of stories. Yes!
