Please allow me to inspire you. XO, Editrix Jenni

by Jenni Prokopy, the Editrix

Let's start here: I believe in you. Each and every one of you.

Does that feel good? Let it soak in. Steep in the knowledge that someone out there really trusts that you can be successful in your endeavors.

Why do I believe so strongly? Because I've come from things so hard that when I tell my story it brings tears to the toughest souls. And I face adversity every day. But I still pull through, and I make things happen. And there's nothing particularly special about me, when we come down to apples and apples and oranges. I'm just like you: A young woman, trying to make the most of the hand I've been dealt. I'm just like you. We are the same.

If I can do it, you can. I believe this with all my heart.

It's a new year, and I'm resolved that it' gonna be great. It's a nice start. But the past couple days I've flared up so badly, I've felt a little disheartened. Then I heard a song this morning that just lifted me up, made my spirit soar! I thought I'd share it, plus some other things I hope will inspire you to strive. Ready?

* Jónsi: Go Do

My gosh, this song just filled my heart with sparkles today. "Go do, you'll know how to. Just let yourself, fall into landslide," he sings. "We should always know that we can do anything." That line brought tears. This is a fantastic pick-me-up. Check out the video, and lyrics.

* Jessica Swift: Gorgeous rainboots and art

Her new rainboots are so gorgeous they make me want it to rain or snow. And comfy! There are two patterns to choose from right now; I have the Carmindy style. Check out her site for a big boost of color and inspirational messages. Some days, her messages (which I have tacked up in my bathroom) really make the difference between going back to bed and tackling the day.

* Danielle LaPorte: Decide to Rise

This post by Danielle is a great booster shot for anyone who's tired, not feeling well, experiencing self-doubt...you get the picture. She argues that sometimes we need to push through these limitations and feelings and just f-ing go for it. And I agree.

* The Broken Black Egg by Regina Townsend

I don't care if you're black or white, have infertility or not—spend a little time on this site and then realize what a powerful force Regina is. She's created a support resource that helps so many women. If she can do it, you can too! Even if you don't want to do it on your own, you can join forces with another blogger and contribute your voice. This is how we create awareness and make change, people!

* Nicki Minaj: OPI Nail Polish collection

If you need a moment-to-moment uplifter, nothing beats glittery nails, fingers or toes. And this new collection by Nicki Minaj for OPI is fan-freakin-tastic. I love listening to Super Bass and throwing my hands in the air; now I (and YOU!) can do it in vivacious color.

Did that kick-start you?

These are just a few of my favorite things right now that keep me feeling positive and motivated. I know we can all use a kick in the butt (a loving kick in the butt) sometimes to get out of a low spot; I hope at least one of these resources has done just that.

I really love you.

And I haven't even met you. Well, most of you. But I love you, just the same. Just as you are. We are sisters of a sort, and I know your struggle. I hope you're feeling the love and inspiration today.

What's your inspiration? Share!

Please please please add your own booster shot in the comments below! Sometimes even I need to hear about new resources or tools or tricks or hugs or puppy vidoes to keep my spirits aloft. Thanks!

XOXOXO Jenni
