Blog Carnival #31 - Summer Plans
Summer's here, and the living is easy...well, kinda. With chronic illness, sometimes it's a bit harder. We asked you how you plan to spend your summer and work around challenges to make sure you get to spend some of it having a blast—and as usual, we got a fun array of answers. Dive in!
At A New Kind of Normal, Jamee is writing about traveling with chronic illness, and she shares not just a personal story but also a ton of links with great practical advice for folks with all kinds of chronic illnesses.
At Mo is Blogging...I Think, Mo is going to sit and watch her garden grow, inch by inch. And that sounds darn awesome, actually. Nice and mellow. How lovely and meditative!
Helen at Creaky Girl has made a delicious list of to-do's for her summer, and they're all about taking good care of herself, including hitting the spa, teaching her beau and the kids how to do the dishes, enjoying her downtime...we LOVE this approach. Love the one you're with, Babes!
Kathy at FibroDAZE is reminded that pain doesn't take a holiday. She's offering up a batch of tips for enjoying a terrific RV holiday even if you've got chronic pain issues, and we're socking away her advice for future trips.
At Tales of Rachel, our fabulous Mid-Tern Rachel has created a summer bucket list that's all about health goals, and we're SO inspired. She's got us thinking about what we could accomplish if we put our minds to it...
How Can I Explain it to You? The Life of a Grad Student with Lupus has us prepped for a sunny summer. She tells the tale of a sunny summer wedding...and gives us a checklist for savvy self-care.
Kimberly at Learn.Love.Live. is keeping things really simple, since she's got chronic illness and a couple of teenages to wrangle. She's just going to make sure she lives in the moment and enjoys everything as much as we can. We like her simple, realistic approach.
Give us some feedback...
We're having so much fun running a blog carnival! But maybe there's room for improvement; we want to hear your suggestions. Let us know what you think of this edition in the discussion down below in our comments section OMGOSH WE'RE SO EXCITED ABOUT THE COMMENTS! It's something we haven't always had here at ChronicBabe.com so dive in and share your thoughts!
... and join us next time!
Want to participate in an upcoming carnival? The next edition is on Monday, June 27 and the topic is My Best Friend. Editrix Jenni has a great story to tell about her best friend Natalie, a kickass woman who's supported Jenni through the years, learned about fibro, taught her son how to be careful with Auntie Jenni when she's having a flare-up—and never letting Jenni stay too long at the pity party. Let's hear about your best friends: how do they hold you up? Support you? Let's celebrate these awesome folks and share how important these friendships are in being incredible ChronicBabes!
If you want to participate, send us your name (as you would like it to appear), the name of your blog, the name of (and link to!) your post, and a 1-2 sentence description of the post. PLUS: Give us your Twitter handle, too! We'll let you know if you're accepted. Send all that to chronic babe @ gmail dot com. The deadline is Friday, June 24 at 10pm CST.
