BlogWorld Expo, here I come!
Vegas, baby! That's where I'll be next week with lots of my health bloggy friends, and I wanted to fill you in on what's going down. Thanks to our awesome sponsors (including Johnson & Johnson and MedPageToday), I'll be participating on a panel with some interesting health writers.
Patient Blogging and Disease Awareness: Sickness and Health on the Web will examine the role of bloggers in launching awareness programs, the role of pharma in making those programs a reality...and potential conflicts of interest (and/or huge benefits!) when bloggers and pharma team up. I'll be joined by Amy Tenderich from DiabetesMine, Lisa Emrich from Brass and Ivory, and Trisha Torrey from Every Patient's Advocate. It promises to be a spicy conversation! (If you'll be there, it's at 11am in Tradewinds A&B/10.)
Plus some other pals you may know will be speaking, too. ePatient Dave will be giving the keynote; Kim McAllister from Emergiblog will be moderating a panel on Social Networks and the Medical Blogosphere featuring Kevin Pho (you know, Kevin, MD!), Bryan Vartabedian from 33 Charts, and my girl Kerri Morrone Sparling from Six Until Me. And my buddy Manny Hernandez from TuDiabetes.org is on a panel about How People Are Using Social Media to Improve Their Health along with folks from WEGO Health and Citibank (and darn it, these panels are competing! both so good!). Here's the full schedule of panels.
All in all, it's going to be a great time. I wish I could take you all with me! But since I can't, I promise to Tweet about it and take lots of pics and video to share. And I'll come back with cool ideas to make ChronicBabe better than ever.
