Patients for a Moment: What's your most laugh-out-loud illness-related experience?

We are clearly obsessed with blog carnivals lately, and overflowing with opportunities to host them. Hope you're enjoying all the fantabulous writing and resources! Without further ado, here are a few funnies, as we answer the burning question for this edition of Patients for a Moment: What's your most laugh-out-loud illness-related experience? (P.S. Thanks to Duncan Cross, creator of PFAM, for letting us host!)

Gerri Curless at 50 is the new 40 made us giggle when she added a few lines to the end of this post on living with pain.

Selena at Oh My Aches and Pains! says, "Yes, there are laugh-out-loud moments in my life with fibromyalgia. Granted, many of those moments take on the flavor of a Three Stooges episode. While living with fibromyalgia isn't inherently funny, I think life really isn't worth living if you can't laugh at your situation or yourself every once in a while."

Maureen at Mo Is Blogging...I Think shares a story about a humorous ambulance ride she took once. Yea, Mo - we thought it was funny, too!

Dana Marton at I Already Gave My Right Arm to Be Ambidextrous! shares a look toward her shoulder replacement surgery by looking back at her hip replacement surgery. "It was in 2003. There were some silly stories related to having this surgery and the recovery. I was looking at the past as I looked toward the future...in a humorous way!"

Katie at Overflowing Brain shares the same potty mouth Editrix Jenni does, which - of course - makes us giggle. (More like, guffaw!) Here's a story about the time she had a 3-hour MRI without sedation. And an insight into how completely crazy her health has made her.

Kathy at Making Noises depicts her attempts at physically, mentally and emotionally dealing with - and using - mobility devices, often with hilarious "side effects."

Our pals at How to Cope with Pain share a story about focusing on pain. Is it too much? You be the judge!

Annie Martin at It's Time To Get Over How Fragile You Are says, "Hospitals may not be funny places, but apparently it is where I go to work on my comedy skills." We hear ya, babe!

BarbaraRyan, The Chronic Lesbian, says a colonoscopy can be funny, especially when you're hungry . Editrix Jenni agrees - especially when everyone is farting in the recovery room. Heh heh.

Kathy at The Fibrochondriac finds humor in a pretty common place. "Driving and teenagers? That's a recipe for tension and drama. Not this time," she tells us.

Nessie at This Year's Masterpiece tells us that, "While I'm not so sure I'm ready to laugh at my illness just yet, laughter certainly helps me overcome the worst parts of being sick."

OK! We hope that gives y'all some laughs for a few days.
