Big flare-up = big need for self-care tips
by Jenni Prokopy, the Editrix
Oh Babes, the flare-up...it is so big. It's been ebbing and flowing for a couple weeks now and it's draining my energy. But I'm committed to maintaining my self care regimen during this tough time, and thought I'd take a moment to remind you, too, that it's important to take small steps every day to keep yourself feeling as well as possible (or, AWAP).
Here are some of my favorite ChronicBabe resources on self-care from our past three years of resources. I refer to these when I'm not feeling so hot; you may want to bookmark them, too.
OK, I've slipped. So here are 10 things I promise myself today. What's your promise? - my most recent attempt at organizing my thoughts about self care.
How asking for help has brought me closer to friends - Sometimes the best thing you can do to take care of yourself is to ask a friend for a little assist.
5 Steps to start the new year right - a couple really easy things you can start doing TODAY.
When a ChronicBabe is also an aCUTE Babe... - Some solid advice on applying those daily principles to an especially bad flare-up.
I am one resilient Babe! And I bet you are, too - A look at the American Psychological Association's list of things you can do to increase your resiliency in the face of challenge.
10 Ways to make more time for yourself - start today! - It's all about time, how we manage it, and not giving it away. These tips are timeless.
The not-so-gentle art of acceptance - Sometimes, it's all we can do to accept the things we can't change about ourselves and move forward from there. This might be a great starting place for you. I know it's a great reminder for me - it helps me stop fighting my symptoms.
Well, these should keep you busy for a while. I hope if you're having a particularly bad flare-up (of your symptoms or anything else, for that matter) that you'll take some of this advice. I know I'll be re-reading all of these today.
Much love, Editrix Jenni
