ChronicBabe is two years old...and we're giving the presents to YOU!

It's hard to believe it's been two years. I started ChronicBabe in 2005 as a meaty blog, designed to share my experiences with other young women with chronic illness, and hopefully support their efforts to live well in spite of limitations. After just a few weeks, things really started to take off. And today: we're bigger than ever!
A ChronicBabe timeline:
Spring 2005: Jenni talks with her pal Matt (left) about her desire to create a site that helps young women with chronic illness live well in spite of their health-related limitations. He offers to help her build a site that's babelicious. She holds brainstorming sessions with girlfriends to come up with themes, a name, and a plan.
June 2005: The site launches, and in the next few weeks, a slow trickle of visitors turns into a flood.
July 2005: Cinnamon Cooper of Poise designs us a gorgeous ChronicBabe totebag. (Get yours now!)
August 2005: Jenni makes her first media appearance, on WLUW's Live from the Heartland radio show, and realizes that this little project of hers might just become a whole lot bigger someday! (At the same time, she mourns for the city of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast region, which are pummeled by Katrina and Rita. ChronicBabe makes a major donation to recovery efforts.)
March 2006: We launch the Goodie Bag, our free eNewsletter.
April 2006: Jenni (and Cinnamon, and a bunch of other cool chicks) is named one of The Real Hot 100, in recognition of her work with ChronicBabe.
August 2006: ChronicBabe starts to get some really big press attention, including a profile in Crain's Chicago Business. She decides it's time to make ChronicBabe her full-time gig.
November 2006: Jenni announces her decision to focus her career strictly on health writing, and on helping young women live well in spite of chronic illness. Exciting! Scary! She also gives her first live presentation on "how to be a chronicbabe."
April 2007: We re-launch ChronicBabe with tons of new features, including the Help Desk (with hundreds of resources on dozens of illnesses) and Goodie Bag archives. Didn't Matt do an awesome job? And we launch our first eBook, a freebie for Goodie Bag eNewsletter subscribers.
June 2007: We get our 1,000th Goodie Bag subscriber—a huge landmark! We also create all the goodies we need to exhibit at trade shows and meetings.
July 2007: Health Central names ChronicBabe one of the top ten sites for chronic pain.
Today - August 2007: Jenni celebrates her five-year wedding anniversary, her five-year freelance writing anniversary, and ChronicBabe's successful first two years...and looks ahead at big plans for the future.

- almost 1,500 Goodie Bag subscribers
- 154 feature articles
- 604 Chronic Bits
- almost 450 Help Desk items (covering dozens of topics)
- dozens of press mentions
- thousands and thousands of readers
- one super-thrilled, very thankful Editrix, who is proud of her own work and grateful for all the help and support her friends, colleagues, family and readers offer her every day!
