Smart feet = happy feet, or how I kicked Raynaud's ass

If you have Raynaud's Phenomenon, you know how important warm socks are. I always thought warm socks were not sexy socks - until I found Smartwool.

Smartwool is based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where my parents also happen to live; they help me keep my sock drawer stocked! Smartwool socks are wool, but not scratchy or smelly - they're designed to wick away moisture from your feet, which means you stay dry and warm.

Now I know I sound like a commercial, but I LOVE Smartwool. I love these socks so much I would marry them, if only polygamy weren't illegal. Hell, I should just have a ceremony anyway.

The first few years I had Raynaud's, I would wear thick cotton socks - which I would sweat in, and then the moisture would cool, and I'd have a flare-up. Lame! Then I tried wool socks - which were itchy and scratchy and would smell foul all the time. Super lame! And did I mention that all these inferior socks looked like something my Dad would wear hunting? U G L Y.

But you can see that Smartwool socks are a whole different ball of yarn. They come in all kinds of colors and designs, in a variety of weights and styles (click the picture for some deets). I have super-thin dress socks for business wear, super-thick socks that wear like slippers, athletic socks for the gym.

Seriously - I urge you to check them out, even if you don't have Raynaud's. They're the best, and they even come with a warranty. Over the past seven years, I've only had one pair wear out - and the company sent me a replacement pair. (And this was before I started touting them to everyone I know!)
