Call for submissions: Become a ContributorBabe!

Since we launched a few days ago, many women have written the Babe to ask about contributing articles. Of course, we welcome new voices to the site! Here are some guidelines for submitting articles:

Guidelines for Submitting Articles to ChronicBabe:

Length: 600-900 words (If you want to go longer, we can discuss doing a story series.)

Content and style: Let's hear your voice! Pieces with personality are what we're looking for. Whenever possible, cite respected resources and supply web site addresses for them. We welcome submissions written as first-person narratives, and as third-person traditional reporting. We prefer pieces that offer ideas, resources, and new perspectives so that readers leave with some new information.

Byline: Please supply your name as you would have it appear.

Writer contact info (optional): Please specify an email address that we can run at the end of the article. Otherwise, we will not include contact info.

Writer bio (optional): Please supply 25 to 50 words to run at the end of the article. This can include your background as a writer, as a woman, as a ChronicBabe - whatever works for you. You may also include a writer photo to publish (see details below).

Editing: ChronicBabe reserves the right to edit your piece. If significant edits are needed, we will contact you for further discussion.

Images: If you have illustrations or photos, send them along. They should be 72 dpi and smallish - 3x5 inches max. Please supply artist or photo credit info for each image/illustration.

Publishing: We reserve the right to publish/not publish your work on our own deadline schedule.

Fees: Girlfriend, we are brand new with empty pockets. One day soon, ChronicBabe will be wildly successful and flush with cash and we'll be able to pay you. But for now, it's a labor of love.

P.S.:

If you're interested in contributing but don't want to write a long article, consider submitting ideas for the Chronic Bits section, our news and views section. Just send an e-mail with a link or news release and we'll consider it.
